Student testimonial : Jean-Sébastien THIROUIN

I’ve moved to Japan from Hong Kong December 2017. As a fan of Japan, I was both motivated by personal reasons and professional reasons to join our Group’s subsidiary in Tokyo.

I’ve been very lucky to travel to Japan several times in the past, so I did not feel any major cultural shock I did not expect and Tokyo felt quickly familiar and comfortable. My most pleasant surprise was to enjoy Sakura, especially around Nakameguro during the night time. The lantern lights and cherry trees lined along the river felt truly magical.

Coto Japanese Club was recommended to me by my company as several employees used the school in the past and were very satisfied. My impression is extremely positive. The new school in Azabu-Juban is very pleasant and located in a lively village like district. I’m taking private lessons that allow me to feel my Japanese level progress every week. The Nihongo Fun & Easy Book is really practical and my teacher has great teaching methods making learning fast and friendly. I am now able to use Japanese at the restaurant, the convenience store, the supermarket or with friends and co-workers.

My best advice is to be motivated, focused during the class, study at home and start learning hiragana from the beginning as it is rewarding to be able to recognize a few words during a subway ride or on the lunch menu.
